The NMSA Conference (Sept 7-8) at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by the Revitalization Retreat (Sept 9-11) at the Eclectic Institute in Sandy, Oregon.

This year’s conference theme is “Trust Your Gut”, which will cover a wide range of topics by experts in the fields of gastroenterology, nutrition, mind-body relationships to food, and public health. The NMSA Conference will be held at the University of Washington on September 7-8, 2016, which will include the NMSA Cup, our annual inter-school collegiate bowl.

This year’s NMSA Conference will be followed directly by the Naturopathic Gathering, hosted by the Revitalization Retreat in Sandy, Oregon on September 9-11. There will be a caravan from the conference in Seattle, to the Eclectic Institute in Sandy, where the Revitalization Retreat will be held. Students will have a chance to connect with the roots of our medicine by learning from the Elders of our profession in an informal natural setting, while practicing restorative medicine through nature cure.

I will be commuting to the conference or I have rented a car. Is there parking available at UW?

There is parking available on UW campus for a fee. You can find parking information here.

Where will the conference be taking place?

The conference will be held on the University of Washington Seattle campus. All conference sessions will take place in the Magnuson Health Science Building which can be located using this map of the UW Campus.

Where will I be staying?

If you purchased the on campus housing option, you will be staying in Haggett Hall. When you arrive on UW campus you will check in at the front desk in McMahon Hall where you will receive a room key and a meal card.

How will meals be served during the conference?

If you purchased the on campus housing option, you will receive a meal card at check in that will have either $44 or $66 preloaded depending on whether you are staying 2 or 3 nights respectively. This card will be good for use at any on campus dining option during conference meal breaks. If you did not purchase the housing option, you will be responsible for your meals during the conference.

How will I know the conference event schedule?

Attendees should have received a conference overview via email and will receive a hard copy event schedule at registration.

What is there to do in Seattle at night?

NMSA will be hosting an evening social event from 7pm-10pm at The Garage where you will be able to mingle with your fellow students and future colleagues while bowling, playing shuffleboard, billiards, and enjoying light refreshments. This event has been generously sponsored in part by Integrative Therapeutics.

How will I be able to cheer on teams in the NMSA Cup?

Cup rounds will be listed on the conference schedule and a tournament bracket will be on display at the conference so you can keep track of team progress.

Register for one event, or register for them all at a discounted price.

Early-bird registration ends in June.
